At Ayres of Change Counseling Center the goal is to focus on you as a whole person, and not just to see my client as a "set of issues". I approach therapy work as a team approach, as well as discussing many angles that can help with overall improvement.  My goal is to "work myself out of a job" and equip my clients with the skills they need to walk through life with confidence.   I work with anxiety, depression, addictions, ADHD, High Functioning Autism, social skills, executive functioning issues, self harm, emotional regulation, grief and loss, trauma, and work stress among other concerns.

Individual Therapy Sessions

Individual therapy is a great way to explore emotions, deal with stress, work through past negative experiences,  explore life changes and choices, deal with chronic pain, or get objective support and feedback.  There are many reasons someone would choose to do therapy work, and all of them are valid!   Therapy work can give a different perspective when wanting to make changes and life decisions.

Sometimes working harder at something won't make the changes you want.  You end up feeling frustrated and discouraged despite your best efforts and feel like giving up hope.  As part of the therapeutic relationship, you can get direction and skills from a trained professional, which can make all the difference between success and staying the same. You know that staying the same looks like. It's time to try something different.

Neurodivergency can come with its own unique set of challenges, including but not limited to: feelings of being alone; anxiety; depression; sensory issues; and executive functioning deficits.  Having someone on your therapy team who is aware of these challenges can be an advantage to being able to work with those challenges effectively.
